Receive a CareBag by a Kindred Connections Volunteer
CareBags are for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. They are created as a way to say the Vermont Cancer Survivor Network cares about you. It is also a way to connect more cancer patients to Kindred Connections volunteers. The bags are filled with: Kindred Soup, a collection of essays, poems, and stories by Vermont cancer survivors; a journal and pen; a lip balm, a stress stick, handmade inspirational cards and envelopes, and a book, Active Against Cancer by local author and cancer survivor Nancy Brennan.
The handmade bags are designed and sewn by Crafty Ladies, in St.Albans, as well as the Senior Center in Montpelier and other volunteers in central Vermont.
This project was funded by the Vermont Community Foundation and Vermont Mutual Insurance.
